Marty Cooper

Marty Cooper is a seasoned building official and recognized code expert with more than 40 years of combined experience in plumbing trades, municipal inspection, plan review, and code enforcement. He has participated in numerous local and national committees focused on plumbing and mechanical standards and brings practical, field-tested insight to code interpretation and implementation.

  • IAPMO leadership: Longstanding member; former member of the Board of Directors; member of the Answers and Analysis Committee; current Chair of the Standards Council.

  • Local leadership: Past President, Central California Chapter (CCCIAPMO); participant on multiple regional committees and projects.

Marty’s combination of regulatory experience, committee service, and trade perspective makes him an authoritative and pragmatic instructor for the 2025 Plumbing and Mechanical updates.
